Mobil is playing catch up to Amsoil that has been producing European Formula oil for at least 5 years. Amsoil has approvals from the car mfrs, more than what other oil producers say "recommended for".
(I haven't listed specs for other car mfrs like Audi, MB, Porsche, Renault, VW)
5W-40 BMW spec LL-01
5W-40 BMW spec LL-04
0W-40 BMW spec LL-01
5W-30 BMW spec LL-04
They haven't bothered with 0W-20 because there is no market as long as BMW is offering free oil under warranty.
