Doesn’t affect adhesion as your not wiping it off. Do an alcohol water mix and it gives enough surface mobility to allow a bit of fine tuning as to the spoilers final position. Once in place allow the mix to evaporate using heat if necessary and the jobs a good one.
Used this method on my rear spoiler and it’s still there 5 years later.
