I think there are more value in these than just fuel cost saving..
Less stop at gas station, doing a world a favor of stopping pollution, enjoying better (and clean) technology, feeling good for being responsible for environment... Etc. performance wise, high torque is very appreciated..
May be its because Im a financial guy, but I feel great when I could save even a single dollar. With a plug in hybrid of 20 mile of range, virtually I wont be using gas on commuting at all..
