subreddit and other related subs on the sidebar are a pretty good guide. Check out some of the BBQ places. You really can't go wrong since each one has their own thing.
Sugar Land specifically has plenty to do. Blendin Coffee Club roasts their own beans and will brew for you in a variety of ways. Some restaurants I like in the area are Brandini's, Jupiter Pizza, Cooking Girl, and Singapore Cafe. Perry's Steakhouse has a killer pork chop lunch special on Fridays if you can make it.
