Different tires produce different amounts of road noise. The tires you have now are likely just louder than the ones you had before.
I'm still running run-flats because I am regularly driving 100+ km away from "civilization" and I don't feel like being stranded waiting 4 hours for a tow truck. I really don't like runflats, but I also don't want to have a donut taking up trunk space permanently either. If I was only ever driving in the city where tow trucks are always available I would definitely switch to regular tires.
