Someone had a good point about just buying a F8x. Probably more practical but I was in the same boat kind of. Bought an E90 N54 335 with the specific purpose of building it. Granted my entry price point was about 20k lower than the cheapest F80 around me but I like the E9x platform period, my insurance and tax rates will be for a 335 not an M and I don't have the paranoia of being a target for cops or theft (in my head at least). Keeping the exterior simple and clean but all business where is counts.
Plus idk how BMW did it but the S55 in the F8Xs sounds horrible no matter what you do.
