It's not the whole wheel liner, it's sectioned off. You can just remove the part in front of the wheel, it's a lot of bolts but none are hard to access and the panel isn't that big.
I'd personally remove it, just a few minutes and it will be a lot easier.
I've never coded but yeah it doesn't sound very difficult to code. I'm just not that knowledgeable with coding.
