Having talked to a friend who sells some of the tuning units needed to do a ECU reprogramming he told me that the 316D, 318D and 320D are basically the same engine. When dealing with “low” hp models going up to about 200 hp there are no differences in neither brakes nor bearings or anything.
He sells power gate and I’m considering upgrading my 316D to the equivalent of the 320D, so you should be fine doing the same with your 318D ...
