I also occasionally can hear brake squeal which tells me one of the pads is in contact with one of the disks.
I want to retain the 18 inch wheels (pothole Britain), and have found out I can have the 340mm brake upgrade.
I know now some 335d and 335i cars have front 340mm Brembo with single piston rear caliper and 330mm disk.
Therefore I want to upgrade my front brakes to 340mm brembo and not touch the rears.
Do I still need to carry out the coding after installing the 340mm brembo?
Do I need to upgrade the master cylinder?
I have read various threads but have not found a definitive answer.
Thank you

No issue. I upgraded my 312/300 on the 320d to 340/330 from a 335i. Direct swap and no coding needed.
You will need to find out if you can use the 330s, if not you could still do 340s but it would throw the brake balance off.
