You'd be hard-pressed to notice the smell even if you were looking for it. I've literally stood behind my car just to get an idea and there's an extremely subtle undertone of a gasoline scent, and even that is barely noticeable. I'd still turn my engine off if I were to get pulled over but realistically it's a non-issue.

Speaking from personal experience if you get pulled over you will get a state ref, where he will look over your whole exhaust system.
I was already state ref'd with the new exhaust ticket. $200 Fine for loud exhaust only |
Yes, any cop can give you a state ref ticket if they want to. That part of the law hasn't changed.
