CIC --> NBT --> NBT Evo retrofit?

So I retrofitted the NBT head unit in my F30 that originally came with CIC (small screen, no combox, no navigation, no bluetooth music even with 'enhanced bluetooth' coded on). The NBT retrofit went perfectly, everything is fully functional. Navigation, bluetooth music, album art, everything works.

Everything except connected drive, presumably because it's got a 3G antenna and those networks don't exist anymore. I was wondering how difficult, compared to retrofitting the NBT unit was, retrofitting an NBT Evo would be, and if it could fully connect to and utilize BMW Connected Drive services? Currently, Sirius XM thinks that my car is a 4 Series, when it is in fact a 3 Series. This is because the specific head unit I installed was from a 4 Series. Would an issue like this be present with Connected Drive, and how big of an issue would it be?
