I don't know anything about the DTM rules or regulations but what is wrong with BMW changing the DTM car into an M4 DTM? I mean it could be BMW reinventing their name after the DTM M3, and call it a DTM M4. that way they start a new page with a new name but with the experience that they gain having raced under the M3 name. off course they have to come on stronger this time for this new name to stick..

then again i don't know shit about DTM rules and regulations
