So the line up for the 3,4,5 series will probably be something like

A4?330i
S4?M340i
RS4-M3

A5?430i
S5?M440i
RS5-M4

A6?530i
S6?M550i
RS6-M5

I'm assuming the 440i will only be available in a M440i trim. You will not be able to get a regular 440i like you can now with out M performance it will either be 430i or M440i. Same with M240i, M340i, M550i, M850i etc.. basically if you want more power than a 4 cyl. Car you will have to move up to an M performance model and if that's not enough you will have to go full M. It actually makes a lot of sense Audi does the exact same thing you can not get an A5 with a 6 cyl. Engine you have to move up to the S5.

Price and performance for the 4 will probably look like:

430iā€”-255hp?-$45k
M440i-380hp?-$65k
M4??ā€”480hp?-$85k

Enough of a gap to keep competition between model versions.
