Our winters are worse than Toronto/Vancouver seeing as you won't move if you only have great winter tires on a rwd car.
That being said, you still need winter tires and AWD for the best traction over here.

And it is mandated by law so you need to have snow tires.
But snow tires can save your bacon on ice and all season tires are not good at anything, just a compromise for all situations.
But I agree that you receive some nasty weather, I always dreaded doing the drive from TO to MTR when I was in sales. The Hwy turns to ice and you don't know until you see cars in the ditch. |
