I would say It's almost a necessity if you plan on tracking a lot and not getting an LSD. My OE rear pads also burned up on track very quickly. I got 10k out of them but I think 2 track days were responsible for 75% or more of that wear. The RedStuff pads seem to be way more tolerant and didn't wear much at all.
