You'll get to a point where you can FEEL the traction control intervening and slowing you down, you won't need the light to tell you.
If you're not so intune with your car that you feel it turn on and slow you down, just leave it on. You'll know it when the time comes.
Modern traction control is really good anyway, it's not like 20 years ago
