I guess you didn't see the 0603 leds in the steering wheel
those are the tiniest ever! It is doable if you have the sharpest soldering tip, and a stable hand. You need to melt some wire on the pads and the led itself, and then positioning them perfectly, and heating up both ends. That should do the job, but I did melt away some leds while doing it, so be sure to have extras laying around
