I have just had this done today. And it has completely transformed the car for me. I honestly thought I would also need a new bottom arm or similar, but the new updated steering rack bush has eliminated all vagueness, rattles and knocks - it drives like new again.
For anyone up in the North East, I got mine done by Plough Motors - BMW Specialist in East Boldon (near Sunderland). Parts and Labour PLUS an MOT came to £115.00. So without the MOT I would imagine around £75.00 or so - bargain in my eyes, and saves on buying the special tool, parts and lying on the driveway!
