Come across this a couple of times, once on an i8 and once on a 6 series and Jack is correct. It's an individual car and wheel combination problem. Move the wheels to another car and they won't click. Or they won't click on one car and will when moved to another. BMW are aware of it with standard wheels too and have these friction shims, two piece wheel bolts and increased torque to correct it.
