Cast wheels are still a grade below "flow formed" (which are plenty affordable). And they are two grades below forged. Plenty of people have purchased the cast replicas only to get bends from potholes at some point. Cracking seems to be less common but still possible. They end up spending more on the replica repairs and labor than the OEM ones would've cost from the get-go.

Not sure about "a lot cheaper". I understand you're trying to justify your purchase, but many times a used OEM set costs only $200-400 more than your new set of replicas.
