Since I've had my 340i I have noticed a slight smell of coolant under the engine if I've been pushing it hard. I've kept a close eye and have topped it off twice - although only very small amounts when it has dropped just below the min mark.
The fact it seems common gives some comfort, but surely it shouldn't be using any?
Does anyone have an explanation direct from bmw?
