Does sound pretty high, a paint less dent repair guy would've been the best route to go to avoid the headache with the dealer. We had something similar happen to us 3 months ago, wife had a 2018 Lexus NX 300 loaner and while we were out shopping we happend to come back to the car at the same time the lady next to us did (it was very windy out) and as soon as she opened her door it flew into the passenger front door of the NX (right on the body line) and left a small paint chip on the beautiful pearl white paint along with a really small dent but, I happened to have some touch up paint at home and fixed it myself. When we took it back to the dealer they didn't even notice that small ding that was left behind. I still feel guilty about not telling the dealer because the car only had 8 miles on it when we got it, we took it back with almost 400 miles (we had it for almost 2 weeks).
