If the timing chain snaps, the destructive consequences can retire the engine prematurely.
There is no reason why the vehicle should not last 200K miles if proper and proactive maintenance has been done: timing chain and guides, charge pipe, injectors, wiring from DME to spark plugs, spark plugs, and oil / filter changes every 7.5K miles on average.
