My 2004 E46 330ci is at 228K and going strong. I'm not original owner but I've put less than 1K into it in the span of 2 years; that's pretty damn cheap to me. You just have to be on top of maintenance; more importantly preventative maintenance rather than reactive. Naturally aspirated engines usually can go longer but that isn't to say forced induction engines can't either. Either way, it doesn't matter what car it is, it's all about how to take care of it and how it's driven.
