Ok so I narrowed down the problem.....
I deleted the patched .jar files and replaced them with the originals and now I get the ESYS to open. Once I delete the originals, and replace them with the patched ones, I get the crash on the 'creating log file' screen.

And when using the patched versions, you deleted "PATCHED" from the file names?
And you had both patched folders in the two different folders?
