Not really:
1) N47 appears to have had continued timing chain problems, up until 2012/2014 or so.
2) All USA/CA 328d (320d) have Blue Performance. Maintenance costs on that system can be very high, over $7500 in some cases.
3) All USA/CA 328d have the heavier-duty cooling system and other "performance" parts (that's actually a plus).
4) USA cars have different DPF/DOC.
5) USA cars have different controllers on EGR, Turbo, etc. They're all electrical/electronic whereas the EU cars are vacuum-driven.

There are enough detail changes you really can't compare the two.
