Here we go again!

The launch of the 3-Series GT is going to set off a BMW super-fan armageddon again. Can we just skip the opening credits - you hate the styling, dont see the point, BMW's losing the plot, only someone in China will like it, havent seen one around at all, didnt they hear about the 5GT??!

Some of you might actually test-drive one. Sure it is a niche crossover (and not designed to appeal to all tastes by definition). Sure it drives a bit different from a rep-mobile 520d/528i in Space Gray. But some of you may find the space and versatility and the uprated interiors (over a comparable 3-series sedan or touring) a compelling proposition. Not to mention very good driving dynamics and performance for what is a big crossover (and you didnt want an MPV or a Touring/Wagon)

The 3GT, like the 5GT, is likely to be sensitive to configuring the right exterior and interior trim and options. It is a heavier car and will NOT be as frugal as your current rep-mobile. But for a few people who are not afraid to be different, and vote with their ££ in Europe where the GT is a moderate success for a niche platform, and Asia where it is an established platform; here is another option - sportier, more accessible and every bit as compelling as the 5GT.
