I got hooked about the same (1974) when my brother bought a used BMW 2002 with the round tail lights. It took 15 years after that before I could afford one. I've been driving 5 series ever since. The current 5er is so big and unattached to the road, I am looking at F30's instead.

Congratulations on your first BMW. Drive it until the wheels fall off, sell it to a family member, and go buy another one!
