Keep in mind a leaking water pump is different than an actual failed water pump. Typically when people talk about water pump failures, they are referring to leaking gaskets. The pump itself doesn't fail very often.

I turned mine off because I'd rather the car run at the operating temp it's designed for instead of dropping to less than 190F every time a do a pull.
