Have to admit to being slightly disappointed in the engine. Putting aside the fact it's not a 6 pot anymore. I went with an open mind. But even for a four banger is sounded flat. I think Porsche had tried to recreate that induction howl of the old engine, for me it didn't work. I also found the engine bogged down a bit when giving it a poke sending vibrations trough the rear of the cabin and rattling some trim on both sides around the strut tops.

I came away bank account in tact. Sorry for the naff photos.

I did the same test lately and didn't like the high revving 4 banger either. Like my 335D engine+gearbox combo much more.
Surely Porsche takes turns better and engine would be perfectly suited for trackdays.
M4 being more expensive than Boxter, I would pay that extra € for DD.
