I just checked the Options on a brand new 535i built 2012-07-11, and it has the Next Generation Navigation, however, it is still listed as having S609A Navigation system Professional, so apparently there is not a new Option Code for it.
The only way I know is to check which module is installed with E-Sys. The new ECU should be HU_NBT instead of HU_CIC.
