Very similar to what other people already posted. It's interesting since the SA specifically used the word "compatibility".

What amazes me is the software/firmware update was released in 2013 to address a well known and fairly common problem. My car was built in summer of 2016 and we've seen even newer vehicles with the issue. So the issue between the software and the temp sensor on the evaporator have persisted for years across the N55 run of F3X's, maybe longer. Why wasn't the software patch from the TSB not rolled into the baseline for the 2014 model year? If they did, BMW would only need to fix a much smaller population of vehicles and none of us would be complaining.
