I agree with you that we won't get a six cylinder diesel F3x, kevlartoronto.

I still don't think there is any chance that they will invest money into a more powerful diesel engine just for the US market. If there is a single turbo N47 making ~200hp in the cards then it will be rolled out globally. And that may very well happen at some point, though it would more likely be a version of the next generation B47 engine instead. And it would almost surely be accompanied by a higher power 325d model as well.

Furthermore it is not at all clear that 200hp N47 would be cheaper to bring to the US than a 200hp+ N47TT. It is not the case, after all, that the latter motor can never meet US emissions standards under any circumstances or at any cost. They just have chosen not to make the investment to do so. If they do decide to invest money, that engine is the more likely target to get the money in my opinion.
