You are correct, they are not sufficient for extended, hard use.
I took a stock F30 328 xdrive to Toronto Motorsports Park and I got the high brake load warning after about 25 minutes of lapping
Ambient temp were 45F, there was no traffic since it was a 9 person private day and I was lengthening brake zones only as needed to accommodate the short comings of the stock parts
Obviously, you would be able to get by with the stock parts if you accepted that you need to baby the brakes but if you want to hammer down lap after lap some parts need to change
