2013 335i M sport with EDC and 60k miles.
car had this really bad rattle on the left side and had been doing it for a year
my brother owns a '11 335i e92 and his cabin is so quite compared to mine all cuz of that freaking rattle. it was making me hate the car and I was about ready to sell it or trade it.
it was bad. I could make the rack clunk with one hand when lifting the driver side tire.
decided to make the tool myself this past Saturday. after finding this thread.
took off the bellypan and just colored the three holes with a sharpie and then grabbed a piece of white paper and layed it on top it.
it marked the holes beautifully.

grabbed a wide enough and long enough piece of solid wood I had laying around and drilled the three holes and bolted 3 bolts through those holes.

turned the screw a little a time until the clunk was gone.
is like driving a new car. so quiet and no longer sound like a Yukon with a broken sway bar link.

not hard to make the tool guys. it took me longer removing all those 8mm bolts for the belly pan than making the actual tool
