As I have the same car as you (minus $800 sticker heated seats) with slightly over 7k miles compared to your 40k I am very aware of the cars value. Mine is valued at $27k Wholesale.
Again, an AH3 is a great deal for someone who wants a F30 with or without options at a big discount over a 335i as it is a better car.
As the AH3 did NOT hold the residual BMWFS expected, literally every AH3 coming off lease is going to auction, as owners do not want to purchase a car at a residual $10k-$15k over value and even the price BMWFS is offering to dealers is $5k-$10k over value.
Just search the Internet for 2013 AH3 at sites where they give you the carfax reports on the car - and you will see every one has gone through auction.
I've looked at the Manheim Auction Prices Nationwide and they have gone off between $20k in Atlanta to $25k over the last 60 days.
