I was in a similar situation last year, I was replacing the car through the same dealership, so my salesman offered to negotiate the payout on my behalf by searching higher priced but similar units in the nationwide sales pool. He was able to help me get an additional $1000 over the initial offer (about another 10% of the cars value)
