I have a 320i 2018 shadow edition on finance from BMW with 1 year free warranty. I have had the car for just over a month, and yesterday the wipers went mental and refused to shut off. Indicator/light stalk has stopped working fully as well. Wipers turn on and are constantly active when the ignition is turned on and the only way to turn them off is to turn the car off. This issue happened when I was driving home the other day, and has since left small scratches on my windscreen.
I have a service appointment booked in on Monday with a BMW retailer as that is the earliest time they could offer. Will the warranty cover the small scratches as a result of the faulty wiper system? Bear in mind when the fault happened I was far from home so I had no choice but to drive with the wipers on for an hour. It's incredibly frustrating to have your windscreen ruined only a month after purchasing the car. I'm not sure if they will be able to buff the scratches out or if an entire windscreen swap will be required. The scratches are not very deep and only noticeable in the sunlight.
