KevinJ, I think the cold weather of the C/D test may have reduced the grip from the tires. Also, the turbos are not maxed to allow for adjustments with respect to temperature, that is the hotter air would result in less power, but the extra headroom of the turbo is put to use by the DME to allow a consistent level of torque regardless of temperature - think of it as a temperature-dependent boost limiter that increases with temperature. This is why the car works better at higher altitudes than a comparable NA car; the DME can compensate for thinner air by allowing the turbos to spool more than it would at sea level. Of course, there is a limit to this adjustment.
