It was ok. The cliches on Scotland are to be expected, but they're right that those roads are some of the best in the world. Apart from the roads themselves, and the scenery, there's bigger all other traffic a lot the time, especially out of (camper van) season.

Knowing a fair bit of the geography of the route they did I know that the editing of the film bears little resemblance in large parts to the reality of how the route would unfold if drive it yourself.

From a spirited drive perspective they did exactly the right thing by chopping off the half of the NC500 they did, as a large part is single track road, or busier, and not quite as stunning for scenery.

Have to say, the Alfa GTV6 has really grown on me over the years too.

The M5/B5 were impressively quick round a fairly twisty track too.
