Custom cut is only necessary if wrapping a whole body car with curved surfaces for easier application. For something like skirt extensions, after market lips, etc a skilled installer would just use a hand-cut section of material to apply and trim off the excess. I am not sure exactly what the piece you are trying to protect looks like. But on pretty straight or flat edges is not hard to wrap with hand-cut material. You can order sheets of clear, matte, satin vinyl...same as regular vinyl without pigment or dye.
