I just wrapped my carbon fiber splitters in gloss black.
It is tough man, but worth the trouble if you have alot of free time. As far as durability, i put some coat for vinyl i forgot the name... and will be using meguiars ceramic wax to get more protection on it.. should be good for 2-3 years! Cost me $20 to wrap and lots of time.
