Does the display show NO SIGNAL in red text for a while?
Yeah, definitely do this.

I had to do it a while ago with a e93 320 where all of a sudden it'd go from running perfectly, to chugging like it was on 3 cylinders, then it'd conk out, dash light up like a christmas tree, auto-restart, conk out (rinse and repeat for a while), stumble to life, splutter on 3 cylinders for a while, conk out, etc.

Turn it off and on and it was all fine like nothing had happened - and even more weirdly, wouldn't register a single fault code!

Anyway, chances are unless there's a fault code, the dealer won't know what to do with it anyway, but it's very useful to take a video to show them in such instances, so you can demonstrate there is a problem when "computer says no"
