Something else does need to be done about phones in cars though. I see sooo much bad driving every day and sometimes you just know before you see that some muppet is on the phone.
At the end of last year I was stopped at lights on my bike and some dolly bird slowly rolled into the back of me in her white Kia 4x4. Didn't cause any damage but when I looked behind me she quickly put her phone onto the seat next to her. She had 3 small kids in the car.
Needless to say I was livid and took her to the Fecking cleaners and reported her to the police who did nothing.
