I had tire and wheel insurance on my Mercedes and it was well worth it, replaced 4 AMG rims and 4 tires over 3 years for my 1000 bucks. BUT, they got stricter towards the end and I had 2 bent rims and a bubble in 1 tire that they wouldn't cover.

More importably, BMW's policy is way more expensive ($1600 for my 18" ///M wheels). So I decided not to get it on my F30.

Another important thing about that is if you put any larger wheels on it than what came on it, after market or BMW, they're not covered.
