335d - Preheating, please wait

This message came up on my dash this morning and the car took a few seconds to start. I have searched online and know that this can be normal for a diesel - especially in cold weather. My concern is that I’ve run my car for over a year now and never experienced this - even recently in temps down to -3C, but this morning it was +8C, so I’m surprised this would happen today as it is particularly mild. I didn’t do anything any different today and usually take around 30 seconds from opening the doors until I start the engine. Am I worried about nothing or could this be a sign of another issue forming - CBU, glow plugs need replacing etc? Car is just over 3 years old and covered c 40k miles. I may be extra paranoid as I’ve just passed out of warranty. Thanks in advance for any advice.
