Us old foggies still remember when we were out beating around in our muscle cars and seeing our friends slowly getting the money to work on their cars. It was of course HP first and foremost, but then came slow body work, then when you got to drive around a "full" car in primer - it was a celebration. But the dull primer still meant unfinished - and that is what my brain still see's when I see the matte paint jobs.

I've seen some cases where it shows off the lines of certain cars well, but I don't think I could ever own one as it would always look like primer to me.
