Oh dear. Sad to hear that these car's are still suffering from these problems.
I thought it was mainly affecting older 3/428 MT cars.
But to see it on newer 8AT cars as well...
Seems to be something related to the drive/prop shaft. I had mine changed under warranty and it seemed to work for a while but the issue came back. Whenever I took it to BMW they said it was the diff. I swapped out the diff, drive/prop shaft but the issue was still there.
I took it to several BMW specialist, no one could pinpoint the cause.
In the end I got rid of the car.
But I think it maybe something within the transfer case as I tried everything else.
