Lower freq hum between 100 - 125kmh and afterwards turns to a vibration and as speed builds up so does the vibration. Tried tyre change, wheel alignment all that stuff wheel related. Oh dear. Sad to hear that these car's are still suffering from these problems.
I thought it was mainly affecting older 3/428 MT cars.
But to see it on newer 8AT cars as well...
Seems to be something related to the drive/prop shaft. I had mine changed under warranty and it seemed to work for a while but the issue came back. Whenever I took it to BMW they said it was the diff. I swapped out the diff, drive/prop shaft but the issue was still there.
I took it to several BMW specialist, no one could pinpoint the cause.
In the end I got rid of the car.
But I think it maybe something within the transfer case as I tried everything else. |
I find this unbelievable. For sure this will be my last BMW ever.
It's a pitty that even this brand gave up on quality. The price should be cut in half I guess.
