I had one replaced without any problems and mine was about the same age as yours at the time. If they are a genuine BMW dealer I would insist on a replacement under warranty. If they persist then take it somewhere else. Refurbs are okay if you kerb it yourself (I have one wheel refurbed) but it is never as good as the original.
Are you sure it has not been damaged, causing the corrosion?
I see that the second link you mention is the wheel I had replaced.
